I really want to make an effort in updating this blog as much as possible. In an effort to do this, I'm going to sign up to some of the Challenges that are currently happening in the sewing blog communities.
I recently read about Me-Made-May and I thought it was such a cool challenge. The aim is to wear something you've made every day in May and post pictures about it. Now I'm not sure I've actually made enough items to wear something different every day in May, but I have a long list of projects that I'm about to work on so hopefully I can finish these and they'll make an appearance! So here's my pledge:
"I, Hazel of Disaster in a Dress, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May '12. I endeavour to wear at least garment I have made each day for the duration of May 2012"
I'm really hoping that it keeps me inspired, both with blogging and making. I'm also considering the Colette Palette Challenge, where I would pick a palette of colours and theme my sewing projects around this. However, working in a fabric shop, I kind of plan my projects backwards! I'll come home with lots of random 2 metres of this and that and then either hope I have a pattern that suits or that I'll find one soon! Or I'll splurge on patterns when they go on sale in the shop (most recently with Simplicity patterns being half price, I came home with 3 and fabric to make one of them!).
In the meantime, here's some items I've made recently that will probably be featuring in the challenge!
