Yup, it's that time of the week again. I feel each and every week that Friday keeps coming around quicker and quicker! This week I've gone back to a sense of normality, with the beginning of the new semester at Uni. It's also been the week that I got all my results back from last semester and I can happily tell you that I passed everything, some classes better than others! My new timetable is quite light meaning I have a couple of days off and isn't heavy with lectures, I hope this means I'll have more time to concentrate on coursework and have more time in the evenings for myself to get some sewing done. I'm nearly finished with the first item on my Inspired list, the dress from Oasis. I'm struggling with fit at the shoulder just now so playing with darts to see if I can fix this before I finish hemming. I'm hoping this will be quick and I can get a post up about it this week, in the meantime here are some sneak-peaks
Lapped zipper, Inserting the sleeve, Princess seam
So without boring you any longer, here's my pick for this week:
1. I love this bust dart tutorial from Megan, going to be using that!
2. A Balenciaga inspired skirt from A Pair & A Spare.
3. Tasia shares some tips on how to make your projects less homemade looking.
4. Love this spiked bag from M&J Trimmings blog.
5. Peter shares some useful tips on how to be a sewing blogger.
In other news, you may have noticed that I done a little maintenance on the blog adding labels to all posts (I'm not sure why I never included them before, laziness?) and a quick links section to each of these in the right-hand nav bar. I also added an about me page, you can find a link along the top menu bar (go on, have a nosey). I'm debating whether or not to play about and change fonts and the blog title but for now I like it as is (and this semester I'm doing CAD so let's hope I develop some skillz and can make a fancy new one!). Unless anyone has any improvement ideas? Ha if not have a lovely week!
