A lack of blogging does not mean a lack of productivity!

Where has this week gone?  Seriously, it feels like just a couple of days ago that I last posted but no, it was wayy back last Saturday!

First of all, A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all of you who commented on my last post!  It made me feel a million times better and totally restored my faith in the online sewing community!  Seriously, you guys are the best!  I love that there is this online platform that we can share or makes and encourage each other.  I suppose I now kind of feel sorry for those who try to ruin it.  I've always tried to be positive and encouraging both here and at work.  And I'm glad you're all the same!  I'm so grateful for everyone who reads this blog and hopefully take something away from in.  In order to enhance my blog content, when I'm back from holidays (yup, I'm going away again!), I'm going to try and do more tutorials and info posts.  This will also help when I go back to uni, as I'll be entering my final year and I'm sure all my sewing time will become dissertation time!

Now onto my lack of blogging.  Well this week kind of just caught up with me.  I don't even have the excuse of being in work a lot!  But I have been busy sewing.  As I mentioned above, I'm going on holiday again, this time a cruise with my parents.  If there is any opportunity to dress up in life, it's on a cruise ship!  So I've been sewing up a storm!  I've made the majority of the garments I'm taking away and branding this my 'handmade holiday'!  So once I'm back I look forward to sharing lots of these makes with you.  Some you've seen others are new!  I'll also have my dad's shirt and a couple of dresses for mum to share as well.

In the meantime, I'll leave you with these teasers I snapped on my phone as I started packing tonight.  I'll leave you with a little game as a part of this.  Below is a list of the patterns/garment types I've made using the fabrics in the pictures.  Let me know which ones you'd pair up!

  2. I can't possibly guess! But I LOVE that black and white graphic print. And are the Libert birds jersey? I've seen that in Edinburgh Mandors bit I believe it also used to come in a Tana lawn, which I would love to get my hands on!

Have a great holiday! Can't wait to see the photos!

    1. Well spotted Helen, yes the birds are a liberty print and no its not exactly jersey but a nylon/elastane mix (which I'm sure gives away what that one is!). You might be able to find it online, I'm sure it's called Pollie Parrot or something like that. The lib packs we sell in the shop have this on tana lawn in some of them in various colours but unfortunately not any by the bale!

  3. Hey there Lovely Lady
    - this is the first comment I have ever posted on any blog but had to ask where you got the blue floral fabric on the second last row. The reason I am asking is I have shoes with that fabric from Liberty on the wedge heel (didn't link incase it broke a rule - google clarks scent bottle blue) I would live to get my mitts on some to make a top.
I am looking forward to seeing your makes - I have followed your blog for a while and love your style

    1. Hey, I'm honored to be your first comment! That fabric is a liberty called Meandering Chrysanthemums and the particular one I've used on a drill weight cotton. We sell it in the shop I work in so if you're in the UK you can call us and order it over the phone on 0141 332 7716. It costs £14.99/m (I think, most of our lib's are that price but I got mine during the sale) and we charge standard royal mail postage based on weight, but we can tell you all that over the phone. The weight of it would be best for a structured top or jacket as it's not drapey at all. Hope that helps?

Can't wait to get wearing all these new makes! We started getting our winter stock in this week and I've already made a mental shopping list for when I get back and have to start on my winter makes! x
