An Update

Oh, I've been awfully quiet here this week.  I kind of don't know where this week has gone!  Unfortunately, I was signed off work for another week, much to my dislike, and haven't really felt inspired to blog about much.  That doesn't mean I haven't been sewing!  Oh no!  I've been pretty busy keeping myself occupied on the sewing front!  I've got an Anna Dress, Lakeside Pyjamas, a Saltspring Dress, a shirt I made for my dad and a Vogue mash-up dress to show you in the next couple of weeks.  And I've also got a few more projects cut out waiting to sew!  So see, I have been using my time off productively!

Also, I've been working on some top-secret projects for work (watch this space) as well as some VM stuff for the shop.  And I don't know if I've mentioned, but I'm now doing the Mandors Blog and this week the lovely Debi of My Happy Sewing Place make a stunning summer dress as a guest post for us, if you haven't already, I'd suggest go checking it out!

The other thing I done this week was change my room about and end up with the perfect sewing studio!  We moved my TV to another wall and mounted it up high so I can now lie on my bed, comfy, and watch TV, which cleared up my desk space.  This allowed me to move my overlocker upstairs and sit it next to my sewing machine, giving me this awesome set-up:

And finally, in line with sorting out my sewing space, I had a major de-stash!  I'm planning on selling some of it on Etsy, once I get round to uploading all the pictures.  It'll mostly be short ends, leftover from projects that I've made, no less than about half a metre and there will also be some quilting cottons.  Whilst I was cleaning out, I found the fab fabrics Claire sent me as a part of Kerry's Spring Sewing Swap and realised I haven't actually posted about them!  So in order to rectify this, here's the goods:
I'm planning a beach cover-up with the multi-coloured one and an O'Keefe skirt for the musical print.

I'm hoping to be back to regular posting next week, so see y'all here then :)

  1. That's great that you are blogging for Mandors! I follow the blog, so will look out for your posts! My sewing teacher works in the Edinburgh branch. I've been telling her she should persuade them to stock some Indie pattern companies!

I can't believe the pace at which you sew! Unbelievable! Looking forward to seeing your makes.

    1. Glad hear you're following our blog, I'm currently only posting once a week and trying to come up with some useful tutorials, makes and other relevant content, but its more difficult when its for a business rather than yourself! If there's anything you'd like to see let me know and I'll see what I can come up with. We do stock Colette in Glasgow, although they don't sell as well as you would think. Also they are difficult to re-stock due to shipping costs etc.

I only sew like that when I'm on a mission! Ha and I've very little to do these past few weeks so I've been on a mission to keep myself busy!

    1. Thanks Nessa, I knew I had to move my overlocker to nearer my sewing machine to increase my productivity!

  3. Your new setup looks so cute! It looks like a cozy and efficient workspace! Speaking of efficient, I can't believe how quickly you sew-- you're amazing! I'm like a turtle-- I spend all my spare time sewing, but have nothing to show for it!

    1. Hah thanks Sonja! I've always been an instant gratification person, so sewing wise I just need to get the job done! Once I start there's no stopping me! I think everyone sews at a pace that suits them and that's what makes it enjoyable. If we all churned out garments it wouldn't be just as fun!
